Multi-coloured threads of orange, red, green and blue colours are woven to style the drape with traditional Assamese motifs. The end of the saree "pallu" is neatly finished with tassels.

Muga Silk is a rare wild silk produced only in Assam. In 2007, Muga Silk has been given the Geographical Indication (GI) status, thus attesting this naturally golden coloured silk to Assam.
